CLA45 AMG (US Builds) Lit AMG Door Sill Plates?
Does anyone know if the lighted "AMG" door sill plates are standard on cars heading to the US or will this option be a dealer / port installed component along with the Illuminated Star?
I'm still undecided on the Illuminated Star, it's cool, but not sold yet... Does anyone know more about the details for US regulations? Is the star always lit or only when in Drive, does it turns off? Seems like a lot to spend if it only comes on when parked.

I've heard from other posters that the star stays illuminated, but my dealer told me it's only in park. Certain states only allow a certain number of forward lights on vehicles. The star may be considered a "dazzling or distracting light" (real V&T terminology) so it may not be street legal. Hence parking lot only, waste of money. I'm sure it could easily be rigged with a posi-tap from the headlight power though. As far as the door sills, IDK.

My Canadian spec CLA 45 did not come standard, it was a $750 upgrade..how can someone say it looks tacky?? Tacky is red seat belts! The AMG light up door sills are on all the high end AMG models!!

I think they mean tacky as the star not the door sills.
My c63 didn't even have the option for red seatbelts and door sills.....
I have red seat belts now (black series part number) on my c63 and I loveeee them

Thanks everyone! Does anyone know the option code for the lit AMG sill plates? My dealer doesn't show them yet in the states.
I think I'm going to pass on the Illuminated star, I also think the clear plastic that peaks out around the chrome star looks a little cheap up close, but to each his own... I'm sure people will be slapping EVO styled wings on these CLAs before it's all said and done, wings so large they would require a pilot's license to fly....
In the end, I'd rather spend the money on a backup camera, but I'm also not willing to pay for the Multi-Media package it comes with now. : (

I ordered the AMG drivers pkg, seats and steering wheel, 19" black, silver with alcantara, carbon fiber int trim, blind spot and AMG exhaust... didn't see the door sills as an option for usdm

my car probably wont be coming until May-July... order hasn't been finalized because I wanted the night style package (rally I want the carbon fiber exterior), but its $3500+ vs the 750ish for night style.. I frequent summit point and VIR and will damage the front lip or rear diffuser I'm sure (I have on a couple cars lol).
I will be in Affalterbach in 2 weeks to drive the A45 and CLA45 (plus the new AMG's and get a sneak peak of the upcoming models like the SLC). So i will know 100% if the CLA45 is right for me
wish I could afford a C63 Black series haha
if you get the car in December you should pop over to germantown White with black is nice..I have a Silver one I'm selling at the end of Novemeber (ITs $65k!!)... it's already at the VPC in Baltimore...but they won't release it I think until the end of the month.
