Stealerships...

So my car *finally* came in, about 2 weeks late.

Now the finance manager is trying to stick me at .00375 money factor and giving me run around. Thanks to you fine gentlemen, I stone walled him. I'll have a final verdict tomorrow, but some guys, I tell you. He even tried to tell me they've sold a couple CLA 45's at the mark-up price as it is which I *know* is BS seeing as how there's been one sitting in the showroom floor for a couple weeks, not getting any bites.

The sales rep is totally cool and trying to work the deal out, which is a nice change of pace. Any recommendations from the crowd to fortify my hand aside from walking today to fight another round?

Glad to see you stood your ground! Are you purchasing or leasing? If the latter, care to give us what you've been able to get?

That MF is ridiculous. I think with auto pay you should be under .00200.

2014 CLA 45 AMG; 2012 GLK 350 4MATIC (totaled); 2009 VW GTI (sold)
that is absurd! That never happened when I got my CLA 45 delivered and it was the first one in the city! My only gripe is I barely got any money off MSRP, $860 is all!

2013 C63 Coupe
Its hard to say... but if you're not willing to walk away, they've got you. I've always negoitated all the terms before agreeing to anything; that includes price of the car, finance rate, and asking price for trade in. My last deal ended like this: 2012 E350 coupe as trade in with 25k miles. 2013 C63 coupe asking $69 Dealer gave me $38k for the E350. I wanted more ($40k) but they wouldn't/couldn't so the Dealership dropped asking price for C63 to $62. I took the trade in offer at $38k and put the equity onto the $62 offer and walked away with a 2013 C63 for $48k. The car wasn't even there. It had to be shipped from CAL.
The initial negotiationnwas face to face...
The actual deal negotiations took place over email phone over the course of one week.

Deals can be made, need to strategize and be willing to walk away. I was working with two other dealerships bit had them on hold and told them I was currently working a deal. If it didn't work out I told them I would contact them. I showed no emotion as a buyer, and was clear about working a deal.

Best of luck and I hope it turns out well for you.

We're still working on it. No word today. I'm expecting a call tomorrow. They haven't given me my deposit back yet, so obviously they're not quitting on it yet.

And I'm going via lease.

One more question: Does anyone here *actually* know what the thresholds are for Tier 1/2/3 Credit w/MBFS? Also how it applies to joint borrowers?
