Is this tune a result of your partnership with Rebellion Automotive in the UK?

Hey guys, I have a FBO c63 with a Eurocharged tune that has been kicking *** for over a year now. My brother is picking up a cla45 so of course I recommended eurocharged for the tune. My question does the box connect to OBDII ? Or does it connect to boost/temp sensors like a piggyback? Also if piggy back does it have variable knob on it to control aggressiveness? If you were to update the software how can a user update it if this box can not be plugged into the computer and updates thru software?

Tune alone brings 0-60 to 3.8 secs and Quarter Mile down to the low 12s (12.2). What more could you as for out of a daily driver CLA45.

That plus 2-piece brake rotors and extra lightweight wheels and you might be able to scrape into the 11s possibly on the nice cold day.

These day's you don't really need to do mechanical mods anymore as the OEMs are so good at extracting amazing performance out of their vehicles due to such stiff competition these days. other than reducing rotating mass (the last final frontier OEMs still have not really taken advantage of improving) .... everything else is pretty maxed out from factory on stock components, tuning just turns it up all the way to 100%

From what I hear...the Renntech is more aggressive.

That's what I'm gathered as well but I'm wondering between the eurocharged and rebellion. Are they the same tune rebranded or two separate tunes.

Thanks B. I guess my next question, if I was to go with this tune id assume eurocharged would be ideal since they are also in US? I'm just trying to lay out all options. Why would I buy a UK based product from a UK based company when a US version is here. Nothing against Rebellion, but if better to deal with a more local company.

I'm itching to pull trigger lol. From what I've been reading the eurocharged tune is turning out same performance times as the Rennetech but a little cheaper cost.

Probably doesn't matter so much unless you have a eurocharged shop near you. Love my tune so far. Takes the CLA45 to a new level. I say pull the trigger! I'd feel like I'm in good hands with either rebellion or eurocharged.

I'd love to do some pulls with a Rebellion tuned CLA as its gonna be tough for Rebellion to outperform a tune that runs more boost (renntech).

From the dyno's it looks like the renntech tune makes a little more power up top.

Going back to Ezec63's question. Is the Eurocharged tune an OBDII upload or a piggyback to the ECU?

Thanks

I actually like the shape of the eurocharged powerband much more. I'm sure once they crack the OEM ECU it will be even better, but for now their piggyback should work wonders. Eurocharged actually makes more torque in kid range which is honestly all that really matters for acceleration times.

Problem is Renntech has not provided any info or direction regarding settings in relation to different higher octane fuels.

Hi Guys,

Just want to clarify that the EC system (dyno above) is the same as our previous Gen Tune, We have been supplying these since last year.

Our V2 Tune (has been in development since August last year) is only available through us.

Cheers,

But what does that mean? 100 octane? 104? 109? C16?

Its silly for Renntech not to give us more detailed info. At the end of the day theECU will retard timing enough to keep the car from going boom but I still would like to play it safe. Im currently running setting 5 while using 93 octane. I guess level 6 is ok as well?

I am running setting 3 on Canadian 94 gas and Canadian 94 is worst than 92 from the US. According to Renntech in Germany, if you run in a higher setting with low quality fuel, the car will actually be slower than running on a lower setting since the ECU will retard the timing a lot more.
