Your "opinion" was derogatory and implied that I should get a Celica
and be on "your" level.. lol That's more than just an opinion loll
Like countless others say, paying $1,500 for an intake box that is basically a mold of the stock intake box is out of the question. I also have a S65 AMG with a V12 twin-turbo, I seriously think you need to get out of your gym and take a real look at what cars are available for "performance." This thread is just a way to improve-on the cars already great performance. If I chucked 10k into a S65 it would be able to beat most super-cars from a roll, maybe even from a dig. I'm not trying to make fire with ice here, this post is just to brainstorm ideas for some cheap thrills fun. It's not the place to brag or tell someone what to drive. The fact that you have every single over-priced modification possible shows that are either a millionaire which I highly doubt, or someone that bought a car that's too slow and you're trying to justify your purchase. If you think you're just giving an opinion than I would tell you to get over yourself and go drive a Celica, because again.. That's just my OPINION. lol![Gfight](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/gfight.gif)

PLATINUM SPONSOR
I'd rather stay stock than half ***/rig together some mod that will not only yield minimum to no gains, but could likely cause issues forcing me to either upgrade or replace the stock part. I'm a firm believer of "buy nice or buy twice". That said, good luck in your endeavor and post your results.

Of course! There are high quality parts in this car and the engineers put many hours into this car, there really isnt anything you can piece together to make it that much better. This fool is saying he has a 300 thousand dollar v12 twin turbo but cant spend a grand on a full carbon fiber intake. So I am going to assume that you havent touched any performance parts for this car, but you can make recommendations????? You are a fool. Have you installed any intakes on a CLA45??? Doubt it, so your little internet research means nothing to me. I put performance parts on my CLA because I like to mod my cars.... Im sorry I have a great job that allows me to do these things. So go make your own parts for your CLA and we will see who has the nicer ride in the end.

'Why would you do that to a nice clean car. If you don't have money for nice mods then why dont you get an eclipse'
Admit it, your original post above was insulting.
Now let's think about why we mod our car in the first place. I know I do it to improve performance since I enjoy driving. A mod is good if it achieves that goal, whether it costs $10 or $1000. I bought a $2500 Braille lithium battery because it 1) saves weight in the top front of the car and therefore improves weight distribution and lowers the CG 2) maintains a strong stable electrical supply 3) lasts much longer than conventional batteries 4) holds charge for a long time.
It has worked well for me for the last few months, but it also got me to look closer at Li battery technology. The result is that I have built a DIY lithium battery that cost me $400 in parts and works very nicely. Now that is a DIY mod that is well researched, improves the performance of the car, and does not break the bank. Plus it taught me a thing or two about batteries.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I also bought the Arma variable intake that cost $1500 and am testing it against the $500 Willall intake to see which gives better performance. From the dyno charts provided by the manufacturers I have a suspicion that the Willal unit might come out on top. If that is the case I will further look into the DIY mod that was discussed earlier in the thread. Of course the simple mods will not have the good CF look of the Arma unit, but some people actually prefer stealth mods.
Let's all be friendly and concentrate on discussions that will help improve the CLA 45.

So lets see the NICE DIY mods for the CLA45, and then I will shut up.

OK thats all good. Im talking about performance oriented mods. If you are talking about simple cosmetic mods then fine, those do look nice, and yes you can do them yourself.

The licence plate holder deletes reduced weight by 0.2 Kgs and weight reduction improves performance.
I am almost finished with another mod that will be to your taste, and it involves CF.
Hold your breath.
