Yeah Volk wheels in 19s are pretty light. Going with the G25 as well for the weight savings. Great balance of style and performance.

Pics please. The Volks above don't look bad either and 40lbs+ of unsprung weight is a ton to drop. Thx!

Sorry I'm confused. The wheels say VR but have a Rays centercap. Which are these again please? Also how wide are you going tire wise?

Thx!

I went from 18 inch OEM AMG alloy wheels to 18 inch Rays G25 so the weights savings were around 16 kgs.

Rays is a sub brand of Volk Racing, hence the VR.

Thanks for the education.

Guessing to keep weight down you didn't go wider with the tires? But do you know how wide we can go on a 19x9.5" or 9.5" wide wheel?

Thx!

I found plain AMG or full Affalterbach cap covers that fit on the Rays caps.

why not buy the lexan from a racing supply company and use a jigsaw to cut it your self. at my shop it would cost you 1200 in labor plus the lexan. P&E Rebuilders. Houston tx

If you're running a 9.5 width wheel on the CLA, I'd recommend not going over a 255 tire depending on what offset you chose. There isn't as much room in the wheel well compared to some other platforms.

My solution for excess weight is more HP.

Losing weight is not easy to come by short of the wheels. You could have a rear seat delete fabbed, remove all sound deadening material, carpet, etc.

I guess if the car is not tracked and a daily I just don't see the point.

Removing 75lbs out of my mustang GT in 06, I barely noticed any improvement in ET or MPH. On the street I would guess even less so.

Good luck with the build.
