Interested in what he said as well.

Also It may be too much to ask but, I'd love to have a sound comparison (Revs and under load)between these two setups

-Rebellion Downpipe/Mipdipe +stock muffler
-Full Rebellion exhaust system

Matt,

Please supply weights of your exhaust sections before I bite the bullet and order a titanium rear exhaust.

Just from my experience switching the muffler isn't going to change that much, the stock sports muffler is very nice. In order to take full advantage of a new setup the DP in a must. The rebellion unit looks really nice but if I were you guys I would save up and go all out on a full exhaust. Trust me you will be happy! A nice downpipe combined with a nice muffler makes the car ROAR.

I had the same thing happen with my new X6M. I installed a full titanium Akrapovic from the cat back on the M. For a 7K system it didn't change the sound all that much, BUT when I did the downpipes the car ended up sounding like an exotic.

You got the turbo which muffles the sound and then you have the cat directly behind the turbo muffling the sound even more. AMG does a much better job at getting their cars to have a great stock sound, but once you open up that downpipe man does it ROAR!

I installed a catless downpipe and the exhaust did roar, but the car lost torque in the lower rpm range and gained performance in the high end. If that's what you want, great. For street use, the car felt much quicker when I installed a downpipe with a 200 cell sport cat, regaining the lost torque. It also was not as loud. Both downpipes were used with the stock exhaust.

I am now considering a titanium catback only because it helps to save weight.

So think about what you are looking for before you modify your exhaust system.

Good info! Who makes a full titanium for our car? Titanium is nice, it saved 50 pounds on my BMW

As far as I know only A-Spec, a Japanese brand, is offering a switchable titanium exhaust for the CLA 45 from the mid pipe back. That can
be mated to my Armytrix downpipe(catless or w/sport cat) and front pipe.

Of course now I am going to consider the Rebellion unit.

Did you still have a nice increase in sound with the race cat DP compared to the stock DP?

Yes it is louder than stock, but not too loud. A lighter exhaust like the A-Spec or Rebellion unit will raise the sound level.

Hi Guys,

Sorry been a busy weekend for us.

Will get all weights and sound clips soon.

As we do all fabrication in house we can manufacture all Downpipes and Full exhausts is Titanium too if required.

Regards,

Matt

Hi Matt,

That's great. Could you please try to work out the cost of your exhaust(midpipe back or full exhaust including sportcat downpipe and frontpipe) in titanium?

Hi Guys,

Right Cost break down.

Down Pipe and Mid Pipe - £995 ($1499 approx) to add a Sports cat to this add £500 ($750)

Valvetronic Mid Pipe back (just behind the front wheels) is £1499 ($2200 Approx) - This includes Valves, Electrics and Remote.

If we were to build the Turbo Back system in titanium you would be looking at about $6000 - $7000.

Shipping is down to location etc.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

Your midpipe back in titanium would be 4000 to 4500 then? What would be the approximate lead time from order to delivery? I am definitely interested.

Correct we would estimate about that cost

Normal systems are about 3-4 weeks away, A custom Ti System would be about 4 -5 Weeks.

Hope that helps

Matt,

Appreciate the cost breakdown, and am glad to hear it is not $2200 for JUST the muffler section . Just to confirm, the $2200 option, this is essentially the 'catback' version consisting of the midpipe and muffler with valves and electronics correct?

Will you be offering piece for sale individually? For example if we only wanted the muffler, and was undecided whether we wanted the midpipe for example?

In your opinion, how much would the sound change or be enhanced with just your muffler? Or would it not be worth getting by itself for example?

Cheers,

Justin

Nice breakdown thank you glad to hear the whole system is $2200 which isn't bad at all. Would love to hear the full system vs downpipe/midpipe stock muffler before deciding which way to go.

Like I said before just changing the muffler wont do that much. I did the IPE cat back before the downpipe. It just make the sound slightly louder and slightly lower. The big sound difference comes in the downpipe

Hi All the full exhaust is made up of the Downpipe, Midpipe and then the Cat Back section.

The $2200 Option is from just behind the front wheels and includes everything needed to fit to the car and have it operational.

We could do just the mufler however that would leave one silencer in the system so you wont get much volume increase.

I will do the sound files tomorrow and get them uploaded

This is the Downpipe/Midpipe

this is where the CAT Back starts
