Brake service

Now that most owners had some time to use their cars, had anyone done a brake service yet? As the cars are new information on 45s are hard to come by,

1) are they labor intensive and costly?
2) ive read that they are similar to the slk pads

Maybe PM or call Rebellion. They've got pad kits they sell, also rotors, and calipers. They should be able to answer any questions about the job.

Hi !

The brakes them self are relatively easy to do. Including preparation you should be able to do a front set in an hour or just over.

The rear set is similar however you wind back the calipers using the Cars computer accessed through the dash.

If you want a how to guide just shout and I will get one together

The biggest complaint from customers is the lifespan of the stock items, they seem to wear down really quick.

So if you are changing you may want to consider the 2 links below:

http://store.rebellionautomotive.co....brake-upgrade/

http://store.rebellionautomotive.co....brake-upgrade/

Both are available in normal or saw styles.

If you require OEM discs and pads we can do that too

Im particularly looking for GLA45 brake information but GLA45 information is even harder to come by (not enough enthusiast?) Was curious because while researching brakes, i ran into alot of people complaining about ridiculous cost to service brakes in AMG cars

Im not used to AMG cars, had M cars in the past but maintenance cost were not so bad, and im not afraid to work on my own cars.

So AMG OEMs will tend to be expensive (comparted to a cla250) because
1) tend to wear down faster
2) overprice cause its a AMG part

any info would be great

will deff look at rebellion when the time comes

Hi,

The GLA is similar to the CLA so no difference in work time.

The parts are not massively expensive compared to the bigger AMGs. In the UK front pads and discs will be around 400gbp in parts ($600 approx) and you can change them yourself.

The rears are more expensive for some bizarre reason .. up to 700 GBP for Pads and Discs ($1100 Approx)

Wear rate is relative to how you drive.. some customers see 6000 Miles to a set and some see 20000 Miles.

Hope that helps.
