What's the function of the auxiliary battery?
Please excuse the dumb question, but what is powered by the auxiliary battery?

I'd like to know because:

1. I'm curious--I never had a car with an aux. battery before.
2. The automatic start/stop hasn't worked in a while, and I was wondering if the aux. battery controlled it somehow
3. Yes, I have the owner's manuals, and they tell me nothing about it.

The auxiliary battery is used for the Eco system(start/stop) and it also serves as an emergency power supply so you can put the car in park in case the main electrical system fails. If your aux battery has a problem, then the Eco system will not work.

What would happen if i totally remove the aux battery?
start /stop not working due to my light weight barety i install a year ago.
