CLA 45 not listed
I noticed today that the AMG CLA 45 is no longer listed on the MB website. Is the model being discontinued ? Wondering if anyone has any info on this?

Uh..... looks like they want to force people to get a GLA (45?) ....
Or maybe just maybe they are preparing to bring the 45s over....

As for CLA45 vs. CLA45S... you can pretty much order everything on a CLA45S in North America if you choose the right options. The only thing we don't have is the extra 34 hp... and that's because the engine is detuned for a lower octane in USA.

Sounds like Mercedes wants to get out of the small car market all-together. I'm wondering if they just have no more capacity for CLA45 orders?

"The engine's high degree of supercharging calls for a high-performance intercooler. So that the charge air can be cooled close to the ambient temperature despite the extreme quantities of heat, for the first time a 2-stage, indirect intercooler has been developed. It works in conjunction with the air conditioning system, and is used in the S-models where it has been integrated into the low-temperature circuit. For this was necessary to completely redesign the configuration of the condenser in the front end. One condenser is located in the wheel arch, and a second one is positioned in first row of the central cooling module. The separate condenser and radiator configuration and thermal management specifically designed to meet (everyday) requirements and (racetrack) performance enable efficient and coordinated cooling performance."
That being said, if you don't track your vehicle, the regular 45 model will do just fine just that it isn't as much of an upgrade compared to the C117 gen (at least on paper and horsepower wise)
I also heard rumours that the the 45s might come to North America but they are just rumours for now.

My dealer had ONE allocated for the year and I have a deposit on it. They say it is being built this week but may not be here until late spring early summer. Sad if this would be the last as this is an awesome car. I took the AMG Driving Academy PRO Course at Circuit of the Americas in December and drove this car on the track and fell in love with it.

Maybe realized the CLA 45 is too much fun and not enough margin and had to put a stop to it

Now the GLA 45 is off the US website -- bet they're just trying to segment products in the US differently and try to get people to go 35 or up to C Class AMG, unless they need the 45 engines for the new C class AMGs.

I don't know about the margin but in my opinion the 45 model is overpriced for what you get but that is just my opinion. I also rarely see one here or maybe I am just not at the right place at the right time, there are a bunch of last gen C117 CLA 45 though and bunch of pfl C 43 and fl C 43 as well. The last gen GLA 45 is not common sight here though.

but... if we subject in the labour cost for the engine builders, the profit margin might be lower than we expect.

The pricing of the CLA45 in the USA is crazy. It's already expensive in Canada... but for some reason it's even more in the USA. It's like the currency isn't even taken into consideration. If a highly spec'd CLA45 is CDN$80,000 in Canada then considering foreign exchange rates... a highly spec'd CLA in the USA should be a bit over USD$60,000. But that's not what's happening! Instead that CLA45 in the USA would be USD$80,000!!! I don't understand it at all. For this price in the USA you could get a M3!!!

I suspect this is gone because of the upcoming all 4-cyl C Class as well. The M139 will be making 460 BHP using the new electric turbo and 660 as a hybrid. In a year I doubt you will see this engine in any AMG that isn't ringing the $100K bell in the U.S.
RIP (Let 'er RIP) to this angry little car.

Yikes, I am sorry to hear that. Any chance you might get an update from the dealership in the coming days?
