C118 CLA45 Shake, Rattle and Roll, what a mess

New Owner here:

I am SHOCKED how much this car rattles, Ive owner BMW, Lexus and Infiniti. My GF owns a 2020 250. NO issues.

My car - is a rattle trap, and it's kinda embarrassing. I took it to the dealer last week, and lo and behold after a few days of no noticeable noise its back fierce. I dont know what the source of the noise is but sounds like it's lon the right hand side.

Also unrelated, it's a very uncomfortable ride, but im ok with that. "OH ITS JUST A CLA, ITS SUPPOSED TO DO THAT"

Since the dealer cant fix it - is this something a stereo shop or body shop can help with? I'm in bay area CA.

Appreciate any help!

Try going from checking tire pressures, replacing tires (unlikely the CLA 45 has run-flats but I am not sure), dropping wheel size & tire size, etc.

Does the vehicle come equipped with Ride Control?

2023 AMG GT 53
The rattles and squeaks are part of "yeah well it's a CLA." I never have music turned off so I lived with it by drowning it out. But the ride, it's super harsh. The AMG performance seats don't make it any better. I think it's the suspension more than the wheel/tire setup. I have 21"s on my GT 53 and it's a way smoother ride. In my CLA 45 it didn't matter what setting I had the suspension on, every bump in the road broke a tooth. The car rides really low too which may play a part. I work on an Air Force base and there's certain gates I can't use because the spike strips and speed bump hit the subframe.

Is there a setting in the suspension mode besides comfort that will perhaps help (im on comfort)? I suspect the stiff suspension is partly to blame.

Does the vehicle come equipped with the Ride Control option and does it come with run-flats?

It is true the 45 will be much stiffer than a 250 though but Ride Control helps, not having run-flats also helps.

Is the run-flats a must or you willing to go Pilot Sport 4S without run-flats with the good ol compressor and fix-a-flat, tire plug or Tirefit MB calls it.

Getting rid of run-flats certainly will help.

Having Ride Control with the adaptive dampers should had helped as well though since you said you have that.
