How many are getting the CLA 2014

The first AWD version of this car will be the AMG version. The launch cars will be FWD (as you all know) with the AMG's coming in November, and the 4Matics coming hopefully by February 2014 (Spring).

That is good news, I was worried that the AMG version would be released last.
Looks like MB will be first to the market in the US with a small performance sedan. BMW is not releasing their m235i or M2 Coupe until the end of 2014 or early 2015 and while Audi will have their A3 Sedan out in early 2014 there isn't any word on when an S3 version will be available.

anyone here know if there are any forum sponsors here that give good deals?
i know theres a few over at bimmerpost and audizine that offer $500 over invoice so i'd like to find a similar deal here for the the AMG.
cant wait for this car. really excited about the november release. at first i expected early 2014 which was disappointing to hear.

I'm not really sure where the information for the AMG release in November came from. I was at the dealer to discuss setting up my order for the CLA45 AMG and my salesman showed me the official sales release form and it said " FWD CLA to be available for purchase late September-early October, AWD and AMG versions to follow in March-April of 2014. This was directly from MBUSA. Where did you hear it would be available in November?

I'm definitely interested in acquiring one of the AMG variants of this new model, the overall package is stunning especially the drivetrain and AMG spec interior
So far there's a 5 door hatch A45 and 4 door 'coupe body' sedan CLA45.
Speculation suggests another one or two more variants and possibly more configurations as well eg. a 3 door hatch and a proper 2 door coupe.
A choice between either one of the above 2 would definitely do it for me

The Shooting Brake variant is highly rumoured, following the lead of the CLS Shooting Brake. I hope this doesn't take away from the C-class.

My reference is for the Australian market which is almost identicle as the U.K market and the AMG A45 hatch is definitely destined here, Australia is the largest (per capita) AMG sales and ownership market in the World, so we definitely don't miss out on any AMG offerings because of the popularity and demand despite the extreme high cost/price point of the vehicles in this Country
On the subject of a shooting brake variant, that may very well be the case I have recently read something along those lines but there's also speculation of a baby A Class SUV as well, I did read and see pics of at least 5 new A Class variants which were still under wraps and consideration all of which will have an AMG variant to go with the basic or cooking model versions - will be interesting to see what eventuates

Yeah, me too!
Specs say 50+ mpg AVERAGE and over 60mpg on the freeway.
Not sure if that was imperial gallons, but still with 170hp and
0-60 in about 8 second.
Overall pretty impressive.
I'm sick of the car companies telling us (in the US) that the only way we can
get really good mileage is with a hybrid or some Sh_tbox super compact POS.
when in Europe they have many other models of the same vehicles alll ready to ship here if they wanted to.
With fuel at such ridiculous prices I'm willing to give up some performance for the ability to go long trips again without going broke on fuel and having it be the biggest expense of the trip.

Three choices. CLA45 AMG, BMW 1M (if they start production again) or Porsche Cayman. Trade my 02 C230 Coupe and let the dealer deal with the crappy interior issues.

Choosing one of those is a wonderful problem to have. I bet they all have very different driving characters. I know for sure the Cayman is much different than the BMW 135is or 1M. (By the way the replacement coming in late 2013 or early 2014 is a M235i for the 135i and a possible M2 in another year).
Both the MB and BMW have turbo's and will have great acceleration around town. The Porsche can match or beat their lap times due to superior handling and braking, but you have to keep the revs up to get any torque.
One more wild card is if they put a turbo in the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ which will solve the lack of torque. $30K for a BRZ versus $50K for AMG, M235i or S3 Sedan will be a tough call.......

With any of the IL4 diesels you will get 50+mpg combined with more than respectable performance and the driving experience behind the wheel of a massively torque laden vehicle is intoxicating, performance wise on some models like mine for example your actually not loosing in performance and actually have higher performance than the equivalent IL4 petrol variant, which becomes even more pronounced with some simple and inexpensive tuning options and still get the excellent efficiency
I'm only interested in a petrol A Class AMG as a weekender fun/joy rider, for everyday daily driven or the main car for me it's the diesels all the way and they are going to get better and better, the upcoming MB hybrid diesel combination is looking very good and if you look at what BMW are releasing in the way of new diesel technology engines it's just fantastic it renders some of their equivalent displacement hi po petrol engines obsolete, hopefully we'll see similar from MB and other marques in future as well and hopefully all World markets will get access to diesels

AFAIK there's no way known the limited production 135i M Coupe will see further production, so if you want one of those it'll have to be a used example.
The new or current shape 135i M will only be made as a hatchback ATM.
Unfortunately for people in the U.S the A Class AMG will only be offered in the CLA 45 variant which is a pity because dynamically and handling/performance wise it's always going to be second to the AMG A45 hatch, that's where MB/AMG have put all the main emphasis and development into to make sure they break into the highly competitive hot hatch market with any kind of success.

Just got one a month ago. I'm starting to see a few around. Of course the real special characteristic of the car is the looks. The Edition 1 setup has everything I could want; bluetooth, nav, Alcantara seats, awesome looking moon roof, etc. The power is great considering the gas mileage.
All around nice car and more fun than similar priced cars I drove. If you like to drive sporty and have fun, you have to remember there is no drifting or tail slides with the FWD. I do miss doing that stuff but on a mountain road the car handles great.
Oh and 26.7 avg mpg over 3,000 miles.

Gave up with CLA and will buy E-class
After checking again and again I decided not to buy a CLA which is anyway the cheapest Benz for someone who cannot buy anything else.
I will get a new E-class because I think it is really a lot better.
