Not interested. No reason to look. All automatic. Maybe the new rwd 1 series sedan in 2014...maybe M1.

Nothing for sure yet need to test drive the 45 AMG first
I was at the dealer I saw a B class and guess what? The front end and the interior looks exactly like the cla/a class

Have to wait until the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is out.
Thought my wife would like the CLA but she doesn't like the sport seats which appear ssimilar to the ones in the C Coupes. Probably will order a W204 C350 while we still can because the new C is getting longer!

It's tempting, but I have to remind myself that it is based on the A- and B-class which shares a similar downgraded interior, though a little more sporty. The CLA is also only available with a 4-cylinder engine which will not be as smooth, refined or as powerful as our V6 engines.
I really have to give credit to MB to produce such a stylish entry-level vehicle at a very attractive price. I am sure they will sell a ton CLA's, mostly to younger buyers would not normally consider a MB.
The CLA45 AMG is even more tempting with 350hp/295lb-ft powering all 4 wheels through a dual clutch transmission. This may be the one I want to get. A rumoured shooting brake body style (similar to the CLS shooting brake) would probably seal the deal.

I'm quite happy with my current C250, but as a daily commute, the CLA is quite attractive for myself...as thieves are quite prevalent here, the CLA probably is a lesser loss (if stolen) than the C250

There are a lot of things to not like about the CLA. What is under the hood is not one of them.

2012 C350
Maybe for the C300 drivers, but speaking as an owner of a C350, "what is under the hood" is definitely a deal breaker for me.
On a side note, am I the only one who finds it funny that a lot of the C250 drivers on the boards are very defensive about their car's performance? I think I read somewhere that their ECU-tuned 250 is as fast as a 350?

Secondly, I don't think I have seen anywhere where anyone is saying that a tuned 250 is as fast as a 350 (although it does have quite a larger market for tuning...). IMO, the 250 is the better balanced car that is more pleasing to drive.
More often that not it seems it is the C350 owner ****ting on the C300 or C250 owner around here whenever one of these threads starts. See your post as an example.

Looks like the CLA250 is going to be a torquey little beast - that should be fun. The CLA45 looks even better...

I'm actually not familiar with a 1M...what is it?

No, I'm fairly sure the BMW convention is that the "M" is followed by the series number, such as the M3. It's not a 3M! When their new 1 series comes out, there will be an M1. The 1 Series and CLA will be directly competitive, right below the 3 Series and C Class, respectively.

In this case, at least so far, the 1 series actually is called a 1M since there was an M1 prior and a completely different class of car.

We don't know the performance numbers of it yet, but there's every chance that this is just as fast as a C350. It's hard to judge something that isn't even out on the road yet.

The car may not be out on the street yet, but it's not hard for me to determine that the C350 is faster than the soon-to-come CLA. It's a more economically focused vehicle and wouldn't make sense to be faster than the higher level C350.
I am not saying it is the general opinion of the C250 drivers that their flashed 250 is as fast as a 350. I was just saying that I had seen it here on the boards. And you have to ask yourself, what is in it for me to make something like that up? I'm not trying to troll on the boards here. Just stating what I thought was funny/cute of a lot of C250 drivers. If you're not one of them, then you shouldn't be offended.
From a performance modification standpoint, I don't see it as a wise option (for me at least) to add any of the substantial mods available considering that the majority of them put your warranty at risk.
My girlfriend drives a C250 coupe per my recommendation and I don't see how it is the more "balanced" car but to each their own. Our standards of "balance" are clearly different. I am not trying to sh*t on any C250 drivers because I am driving one a lot of the time myself. Just stating it like it is, brother.
