CLA now on offer in Mexico

Did you notice that the CLA was priced about 7-8% more than the C Class? $484k vs $454K? That is not how the US Marketing pitch is going!

US pricing is just fabulous, its going to gain a lot of new MB customers. Remember that Mexico has a high import tax and a 16% value added tax, PLUS there is only one Eurospec accessory configuration, it comes with everything, you cannot add options, it comes the way it is, and that's that.
However my 2010 C300, was several thousand dollars less (before the value added tax) than the equivalent C in the US, and some equipment was "standard" that wasnt even available in the US, not even as an option. The VAT, as this was a corporate purchase, didnt cost a thing, and got to write off 25% a year on taxes.
Yes, pricing varies, the US is certainly getting preferential treatment.
