Active Lane Keeping Assist: can it be permanently disabled?

It comes as part of driver assistance package. I sometimes disable it during commute but after restarting the car, it is enabled again.
So I have to disable it every time which is annoying. I also tried disabling the steering assist and it stays disabled.

If you have this driver assistance package, does your car behave the same way for the active lane keeping assist?
I already contacted MBUSA for clarification and still wait for their answer.

Nevermind, MBUSA confirmed that this is by design. Active Lane Keeping Assist will default to ON at vehicle startup. They should have listed this fact in the operator's manual though.
