OEM Bumper-mounted fog lights.
Hi, I usually hang out in the W201 forum, but my wife drives a A160L Avantgarde.
We live in an area (on south-western coast of South Africa) that ocasionally during winter suffers from extremely bad fog and the standard fog lights incorporated in the headlight-unit just doesn't quite cut it when you strike it unlucky... so I asked relatives to pop into a dealer on a recent trip to Germany and ask if they have a genuine MB bumper-mounted foglight available. The SA dealers could not help me, but I was sure that I had seen an A-class with these (even though a quick Google image search did not back me up)
OK, long story short:
The dealer happily supplied 2 foglights with all wiring and mounting hardware based on the VIN number but when I saw it I realised that there was no way that it would fit into the bumper on our car. I subsequently realised that I am the proud owner of a set of foglights for the AMG-bumpered A-class that never was sold in SA. (not the Hakinnen Coultard beasts -they also had std bumpers sans lights) It looks like they were pre-facelift models with unique bumpers that appear to be pre-facelift. Even if I wanted to throw more money at this, it would look odd on our post-facelift model and I basically decided to can the idea.
OK, OK, Long Story Short!: Is there anybody anywhere in the world that would be interested in buying these lights?
