W169 (A150) Fuel Compartment Door Problem
Hello!
I own a A150 MB, 10 years old.
The fuel compartment door has a trigger mechanism that locks it when the car doors are also locked. However mine is broken, it's always open.
Can someone help me?
Is it a vacuum system or electromagnet lock?
How to access it? must I take out all the boot cover panels?
Thanks,
Nuno=Don Giovanni

I'll leave this info here, it may be useful:
The easiest way is to remove the rear lights (RHS of the car) and work through that hole and through the boot compartment.
Be careful when removing the plastic cover of the rear lights as it is fitted behind a "triangular" trim (the one placed just above the lights).
I tried to remove the triangular plastic but I was too hard. It has some sort of a clip holding it to the car.
Just remove the light bulbs and unscrew 3 bolts (wrench size 8) and gently pull out.
Refitting was even harder! The cover has 3 screws and it's almost impossible to fit the screws through the holes on the car body and simultaneously place the cover behind the triangular plastic.
I sawed the screws reducing their length to 1/3. With this it was easy to place everything in the proper spot and there was still plenty of screw to refit with the bolts.

- W168 has a vacuum lock for the fuel compartment.
- W169 has an electromagnetic lock.
