Using internal microphone with aftermarket head unit.
Hello,
This is my first post and I would like to say hello to everybody I am reading this forum for some time but I have registered only now. It is very helpful.
I have replaced the OEM Audio 50 APS with the Chinese Android based head unit. I have a problem with the build-in microphone. It is clear but very very quiet (work's fine from 20 cm) and there is no way to increase gain. I have tried connecting OEM microphone to HU mic input but without success. I have extracted pin 1 and 9 from quadlock 12 pin connector and connected to mic input. Someone told me that OEM microphone have specific impedance, higher bias voltage and will not work. Microphone from Skype headset works with my unit. Does someone have any knowledge about connecting OEM microphone to after market units?
