W169 - SAM Firmware and Adaptive Breaking Light

Hello guys,

Have anybody tried to update their SAM firmware modules? My car is pre-facelift before 2006 and didn't come with cornering lights (fog lights switching on when turning) nor Adaptive Breaking Light (emergency lights on and flashing brake lights only when stopping brutally from a certain speed)
Those features became standard for all Mercedes-Benz after 2006 I believe (or 2008, at least for the adaptive breaking lights).
My question is: can I just use Vediamo to flash latest firmware into SAM or will my SAM Hardware ID won't allow me to flash the latest firmware risking to brick my SAM module? Indeed, don't wanna risk bricking those SAM modules just to add minor tweaks to my car! But you know if it's just a matter of clicks, it can be a nice to have feature increasing also safety.
Please anybody knowing well Vediamo in such scenario? My car is old so I believe no need to backup SCN coding but well.. I'll do it just in case. Do I need DAS Offline for such update I don't think just Vediamo right?

Cheers

Oh I see, thanks for confirming. I wasn't sure if it was possible but I guess Mercedes-Benz locked possible software updates to certain Hardware ID. Could have been interesting though so you can add new features to our old cars. So I'll keep it like that then, cheers!
