A180 CDI Ignition and starting problems
I have a 2010 A180 manual gearbox. It will not start directly from the key. I have 2 keys, and all the pre ignition lights come up, but the final turn of the key will not fire the starter motor. I can get it started by putting a live to the starter, with the key in the ignition slot.
When its started, I get the following codes on my diagnostic (generic Bluetooth OBD plug via Torque Pro app) :
P2134 - Throttle/Pedal Position sensor/switch F circuit intermittent
P2248 - O2 sensor reference voltage performance bank2 Sensor1
P2249 - O2 sensor reference voltage circuit lowbank2 Sensor1
P2518 - A/C refrigerant pressure sensor B circuit high
P2521 - A/C Request A circuit high
When its running, there is no power steering and the interior fans only work on high. I assumed these, and the issue with the throttle position sensor, might be because of a dodgy ignition switch (EIS) and the ECU not detecting a live from there. I took the ignition module apart to check for anything blown or dry/cracked solder joints, I couldn't see anything obvious. The micro switch in there, that is activated by the final turn of the key, does work, tested with a multimeter. I can also see it move when I take the casing off the EIS. Before I look into getting a new programmed EIS, does it actually sound like a problem with that? I read some where that it sounds more like a SAMS issue. But how would I check that?
Any helpful DIY advice welcome.
Regards
