W169 Automatic - is it really THAT bad?

Hi everyone. Let me start with the fact that i really like the w169, for me it's the perfect city car - small but spacious and the petrol ones are quite reliable.
That said we all have heard about the common Auto Tranny issues that hit the user at about 150k km.
The problem is i found a reeeeally good A170, 220k on the clock, 2010, full features package but it comes with AT and i want to get it for my wife. SO: my question is can someone share from own experience, when the gearbox finally blows, how expensive and is it at all possible to repair it and is it worth at all?

Thanks and Happy new year!
