Mercedes A180D from 2015 won't start
Here are the error codes logged:
01-4C-08106 was logged first, followed by 01-4C-1BAC4 then 01-4C-1BEB3 then multiple 01-4C-84003 were logged and a last 01-4C-08106 was logged.
Can anyone please help with identifying the culprit? What is wrong with my car? How can I fix it?
After some research, here's the summary:Given the sequence of error codes,
- 01-4C-08106 (logged first and last):
- This code points to ignition system issues.
- Check spark plugs, ignition coils, and wiring connections.
- Timing chain or sprocket problems could also be related.
- 01-4C-1BAC4 and 01-4C-1BEB3:
- Unfortunately, these codes aren’t universally recognized.
- They might be specific to Mercedes-Benz diagnostics.
- Multiple 01-4C-84003:
- These codes are often related to the mass airflow circuit.
- Inspect the mass airflow sensor (MAF) for damage or contamination.
- Clean or replace it if needed.
Can the kind people who are expirienced in this forum help me with the following:
1. Is there a way to clean all the engine faults without a OBD nor removing the battery completely?
2. Could this be a corner case for a memory corruption in the software which occurs only when the glow plugs need to be used? I.e. I can change all the glo plugs and still have the same issue at some point - after let's say 60 engine starts and temperature is under 15C?
3. How can I check what are the latest versions of all software components for this model without taking it to the dealer - BWM gives you all access online while Mercedes this model doesn't support the phone app, however, I've registered the car online with Mercedes and I'm still unable to see the latest maintenance software versions for this model?
Thank you in advance,
