A200 Sedan (V1777)
W/V177 Sunroof not closing properly

Hey guys,

Lovely community here and super excited to join you guys

I recently got a V177 (A200 Sedan) back in July and it's been going great. Recently, I was driving and opened up the sunroof. About 5 minutes later, leaves were dropping so I got it to close automatically at about 50km/h. But as it was closing at the very end, it popped back up again. I could only get it to close if I manually jigged the button til it closed.

I've been Googling up a little bit and it seems I may need to reset it? I've looked around the sunroof rails as well and it seems there isn't any debris.

I need some tips on how I should handle this. I'm heading overseas soon and getting it serviced isn't possible for me.

Does anyone know if resetting the sunroof is the same process as the previous models (W176)? I tried to do it but it seems like it doesn't work. After playing around with the sunroof, I also realised that it reverts back to normal sometimes but can be unresponsive at other times.

had issue in mine and tried to reset. Couldn’t get it to do it with what I learned online. It randomly started working 2 days later

my A220 sunroof failed after that and the cloth trapped inside the rail. We have to take it to the dealership to complete re-assembly the roof system...

hey mate, sorry this also happened to you. Dont try to fix it youself as that just making it worse. Just close it as much as possible and take it to the dealership for repair.

Same thing happened to mine. Cloth screen got jammed and would not open, but that was only a symptom of the bigger issue. Had to have the whole system replaced.
