Hi.
I'm new to the forum and been trying to find information on the right oil type to buy for my next oil change.

I own an A220 2019 4Matic. The manual doesn't say anything about the correct oil type and didn't find anything written into he car except that they recommend Mercedes Benz and Mobil 1 oil.

I saw some YouTubers using 5w-30, but is this what the engine required from factory?

Can anyone guide me and tell me which oil to buy. If I buy Mobil 1, do I have to use the European version only?

Also, what oil filter brand /model you recommend me?

I live in Southern Indiana, so it gets cold, but not extreme cold. Just saying in case that's important.

To continue with my question. Doing some research I found that my vehicle's motor needs Mercedes Benz 229.51/52/61/71/72 (MB_223_2.pdf (forum-mercedes.com)) compatible oil. In theory, most of the ones compatible are 0w-20 oils based on a table I found online. However, I found another article (What Happens If You Put The Wrong Oil In A Mercedes? - AutoSpectra) that says that Mercedes Benz recommends 229.5/51 oil for all of their cars. These are 5w-40ish oils. Checking my car's paperwork, I noticed during the last oil change, the dealership used 5w-40 oil in my car, My car currently has 15-600 miles, so I am scratching my head trying to choose which oild to buy, if I want to try to maintain the engine in the best optimal conditions to secure longevity in my vehicle.

What are your thoughts?
