Firewall pass through
Firewall pass through
I need to run a power wire for an amp from the battery through the firewall. I found a bundle of wire running through between the battery and firewall, but I can’t seem to fish wires through there for 2 reasons:
1. The wires are in a rubber and foam grommet that is formed to the wires.
2. There seems to be a void between where I see the wires pass through and where they actually go through the firewall. It’s almost as if there is some kind of cover in front of the firewall so you have to pass through the cover, through the void, and then into the hole in the firewall.
The problem is I can’t take this cover off without extensively disassembling parts in the engine bay. I’ve already removed the battery for better access. Anyone have any ideas on a location where I can easily get a wire through the firewall?
I considered wiring the power up to the fuse box in the passenger footwell, but from all I’ve read this would not work because it wasn’t built for the power draw (500W amp - 4 gauge power wire).
