He advertised:

The wheels are in EXCELLENT CONDITION. There is absoutely NO curb rash on any of the wheels. Only one of the wheels has one minor flaw, nothing noticeable.

It is not true! One bent, one multiplebent, and two have noticeable cosmetic curb.
Have you seen the wheels? I can't imagine how else you would be able to confirm it unless you orsomeone you know saw the damage.

If so, its a real shame he was trying to screw over another member. I'm looking for 18's but not willing to pay what he's looking to get (which is more than he bought them used)

Thumbs down

I am stupid, and didn't do search...

Here is the story:

After I paid him $1900 for wheels shipped, he emailed me that one of the wheels was damaged during removing tires, and he would reimbuse me $100 for it. I asked him to send me pictures with that "small" damage before shipping. Instead of sending me picture, he told me the damage is just cosmetic, not noticeable, nothing wrong with structure. He promised me that I must be very close to see that minor damage. Ok....

After I got these wheels, Obviously, two are bent! Not noticeable??? Other two have some surface curbs! :v :v :v I brought them to a repair shop, and they confirmed one is bent, one has multiple-bend, and they will cost me $295 to repair. I emailed him about the problem, he told me I should ask FedEx to pay the repair. I have no idea how FedEx made these damages with intake boxes, how a tire shop damage a wheel like this? He started to make excuses... ya, I put them to my C32 after I have posted Ad... $1900 is way cheap... I am busy... They were in excellent condition when I posted the Ad...

Here are the pictures....

I knew something was strange about how he wanted to dump them. That explains why he switched tires too (after he blew them out from hitting whatever bent those wheels)

I hope you got your money back from that little *****

Thanks! But, I don't think he would give my money back! I think I should use Paypal dispute to get my money back!

It seems I was lied that he put them back to his C32 after he posted the Ad.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/129706-upgrading-19-s-need-help.html

He claimed these HRE is still in the garage in December, 2005

What?!?!? How long did you have them before you noticed they were bent? Was the box(es) damaged? I would demand a refund and still contact paypal to report his ***.

Atleast pursue the possibility of getting a refund. PM, call and e-mail him. If he doesn't respond, well I say pursue it with PayPal. How did he send them? I hope for your sake, he used the USPS. You can file a report with them and that would be mail fraud which is a federal crime

Dude.. that sucks.. I almost made an offer on these myself.. There is no way those rims would get damaged like that durring shipping if the boxes were intact. Even if they were I'm sure he would be liable for crapping packaging. Shipping companies don't pay for damage if the packaging sucked, which doesn't even appear to be the case.

It's amazing that he would try to sell these bunk *** rims for over a year even without budging on the price. He was even trying to sell these for more than he paid. People like this really **** me off..

Good luck!

It seems he disappear...
I tried to start a claim with Paypal, but, they told me the buyer protection is only useful, if I don't receive the products.
I leted him use FedEx for shipping...

It seems he lives in many different locations.
These wheels were in Memphis, Tennessee when he started the auction on eBay.

this statement intrigues me. using Paypal, I recovered $250 on MC3198
CD changer which arrived DOA. I was also just reimbursed $160 for PDA
which was received not functioning (though seller claimed it was when
shipped). I was refunded about $250 for another PDA 2 yrs ago. All these
were through Paypal dispute resolution service...all received but condition
was not as seller advertised. That was the foundation of my 3 complaints.

At first, I thought Paypal buyer protection can help me, if something happens. That's why I didn't send him a check, but, used Paypal. But, when I started to open a claim, I found I their policy doesn't cover my issue. The following is the message I got from Paypal:

Thank you for contacting PayPal. You may want to contact the website where you purchased the item through and see if they have any buyer protection to offer. Unfortunately, except on eBay, we do not cover items that are received but not as described. Any website other than eBay, the buyer complaint process covers non-receipt only.

ah!....the fine print. i get it now. sorry you had to experience and go through
such a nightmare. all mine were ebay. i guess i can see their angle as well. with Ebay, folks sign up with some oversight and credit card...blah blah. then they go through this again getting a Paypal account. with payment through Paypal but un-predetermined seller, i guess the seller's credentials could be all over the map. I could be paying someone via Paypal who could be using a roaming yahoo.com account, unverified, etc. understandable business caution, though it does little to ease your situation. sorry to hear, man.

I was believing Paypal is the safest way to send money for online shipping, because of their Buyer protection policy. But, I lost my confidence now.
