Wanted: 300/350 SDL (W126)

I am looking for a decent W126 S-Class Benz. I would prefer a turbo-diesel but will consider 420/560 gasoline models. It must be a long wheelbase car. I am not picky about the color however am looking for a good runner, not a project.

I will either trade both my Toyota LandCruiser and VW Rabbit diesel for the right car, or will purchase for cash when I have sold these two vehicles. Details on the vehicles for trade are as follows.

1982 Toyota BJ42 diesel LandCruiser (FJ40 style). The Cruiser needs some final assembly as the motor/tranny/transfercase are out of it at the moment. It has a 1980 `B` diesel, newer H55F 5speed, 3speed transfercase, 24 volt electrical, 33x12.50 tires on 15x10 black NASCAR style 6-bolt wheels. Comes with hardtop and ambulance style rear doors and a bikini top. Motor is good. T/C needs bearings and seals. Fiberglass lid on hardtop is cracked in front corner. Floor in cargo area has been reskinned and lined. This is one awesome truck. It is rare and will sell quickly. I was waiting on a trade for another air-cooled VW and have decided I dont need another one and would like a Benz.

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit L diesel. It is a two owner car (I am the third) with approximately 150,000km. The odometer quit on me just past 137,000km. It is green with tan interior, two door, 4-speed manual. It has a few bad areas that wont take much to repair or replace. Interior has no rips or tears but could use a cleaning. New brakes/brakelines, fuel tank and more. I drive it to work daily but it does need shocks and front strut bearings. I know this car isnt worth much and is slow as hell but it is super reliable and returns superb mileage. I fill the tank once every two months or so. I am throwing this in as a bonus so you have something to drive while you finish the LandCruiser. Besides, wife says I can only keep two cars at a time now, excluding the Civic she drives.

Career change forces sale of these. I have sold my 74`Mini, my Chevy K5 and am now allowed one project vehicle. I dont have the time anymore. I am located in southern Ontario, Canada near the U.S. border. Anyone interested, or who has questions please email me at dutch_lush@hotmail.com ....Also, show me what you have and how much in case I unload these vehicles first.

Thank you.

Trust me you don't want a 350SDL

Even if it runs well don't be fooled they all implode. They were underbuilt and bend connecting rods, leading to out-of-round cylinder bores, oil burning, and eventually catastrophic engine failure.

How about the V8s? I am leaning toward the 4.2 for simplicity of suspension repairs when the time comes. Big difference between the 4.2 and 5.6?
