FS: Comand for W203 W209 pre-facelift $850 shipped

For sale is a US spec Comand for W203 and W209 pre-facelift models. I had this installed by Steve MBenz on my 2002 C320. I got rid of the car late last year and pulled out the unit. I don't have the plugs or the antenna, just the unit. You should be able to pick up the other pieces from the dealer or from Steve. Asking $850 shipped (continental US). The unit is in great condition, with a couple light marks on the knobs from use. No scratches on the screen. I will include nav cds 7 and 8 (for most of the northeast/east). Located in central NJ in case anyone wants to pick it up.

You can have Steve MBenz install it for you, or you can do it yourself. Here's some sites that I found:

http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsite/comand_2.0.htm

It shouldn't be too difficult if you've worked on cars before.

Only a few things Im worried about- 1. you are east coast so Its hard to tell how it really is, if you reallly do have it if there are any problems etc. 2. that you only have CD 7&8 and none of thos will do me any good being on the west coast. 3. No antenna or cables either...and how much would the cost on those be from the dealer as well.....I am interested since Ive been looking for a command for my prefacelft W203 just these few things. Can you enlighten me on them? thanks very much man

Retail prices from various Los Angeles dealerships

COMAND adapter harness w/AUX input A203 540 09 09 $49~50
AUX input harness A203 540 61 07 $40~51
GPS antenna A203 820 09 75 $107

If you know someone in parts dept you can get them much cheaper. Not too hard to install if you follow various instructions found online. I did it myself last Sunday. Gutted out center console, center armrest, front seats, front carpets in matter of hours. Not to shabby for first timer.

Why on earth did you take all of that out? Not at all necessary for the install that you did.

He probably ran the antenna to the rear...Steve usually just leaves it in the console near the air vent I think. That way you only have to remove the center console.

Thx for the listing of the part numbers!

Because I decided to put in the AUX input (Although I don't need it) and ordered the complete harness with it. A lot more extra works but all cables are in factory tunnels as they should. My C is still under warranty I don't want to give the stealership any excuses to deny any warranty repairs later.

Nah, since my C didn't have the antenna pre-installed in the rear I just left it in the front dash above the instrument cluster since I didn't order the coax cable. To install the antenna in factory location in the rear you need to remove everything I did plus right rear door sill + rear seat bench + rear seat back + C-pillar + headliner. Something I may do later.........
