HELP!! Stolen 2003 RENNTECH S600
#27
Go to DMV...who ever honored the word of that guy will lose his or her job...DMV will not take any reason unless you have the pink slip with you...especially for a 60k car....Ask the supervisor of DMV and demand them where did this transaction or bill of sale was done....you should be able to get the address of the new owner and get the police to get it back for you...Let the new owner sue that dealer
I feel bad saying this, but I am glad I paid that extra whatever for Lo-jack on both my cars. I feel even worse that you in good faith left your car with a licensed and bonded Dealer and this is what happens.

Wow....
I don't normally go into the classified section.
You might want to post this in the W220 section so the guys there can see it.
Good luck.
Seems this is going to be bad for the new owner too. How would you like to purchase a car and find out the dealer scammed you.

WOW!! Looks like your car was in the dealer today. Check the free carfax again:
01/11/2007 Mercedes-Benz USA, Inc. No recalls open for repair
That is too funny that I looked at the report, it showed today's date which is really strange, I didn't know it was that quick an update.
I agree with some of the people above, your beef is with this dealer not with the new owner. It's sad but it looks like you might have to get a judgment and try to fullfill it against the bond. Good luck.

Yea I heard a little about this around town...I think I remember seeing some of their adds when I was selling my 01 S600. Sorry to hear about this and I think we all should look out for the car. Someone is bound to come across it.

I felt really embarrassed today but i called Roger. Unfortunetly he was out of town but his friend was really shocked to find out about this info. I was embarrassed because i called him at 9.30 in the evening but i felt very happy because hopefully the car is at the dealer. I will try to see if i can do anything to help him out because my best friend is the general manager of south bay mercedes benz.

Thank you for everyone's help, and thank you 06CLK350 for the Phone call to Andy.
The car fax seems to get updated every day.
Today it says:
01/14/2007 Mercedes-Benz USA, Inc. No recalls open for repair
We have been trying to find out what dealership it is at, (if it is at one)
Does any one have an idea how we can find out what dealership it would be at?
The Vin# is WDBNG76J13A345951
On Monday we are going to try to re register the car at the DMV from my personal name into my company name.
We will see what happens, and I will keep every one posted.

Another Update:
This morning my friend went to the Santa Clara DMV with my pinkslip in hand.
He explained to the person at the DMV exactly what was going on.
My friend said:
he looked up the holder of title. I had him do this twice and on the second time he let me see the print out (which he could not legally give to me). You are the holder of the title. I saw your name on the print out along with your address and the vin #'s matched. I asked him if anything looked suspicious, if he could flag anything and if he was familiar with car fax. He said "no" to everything and as far as he could tell nothing looked out of the norm ....
So if the car is still in my name with the DMV, and I still have the pinkslip etc etc, does anyone have any ideas on how I can physically locate the car?

If you are a Tele Aid subscriber, call them with your ID and ask them to locate your car. You could even ask them to unlock it and verify the location for you. Good luck with this.

I had my car stolen not too long ago so I feel your pain. Tele-aid does not tell the customer the location of the car. They will only tell the police. I'm sure he already tried this approach anyway. People work hard for their cars and then some dumbass just steals it. I wish I could get my hands on one of them

wow, that's crazy, I can't even imagine that. If you don't mind can you provide more details, during traffic, bad area, if cops helped out at all. If not, thats ok too.

Out Of Control!!
Yea, literally carjacked. I was on my way back from the track (got cancelled due to passing showers) and stopped at a gas station for gas. I had my windows down when I was pumping gas and apparently someone reached into my car and stole my cell phone. I didnt notice so I drove off. When I reached my destination my friend asked why I wasnt picking up my cell. Thats when I noticed it was gone. I call the cell and the guy picks up and tells me to go back to the gas station and that he had "found" my cell phone. I go back and he starts demanding a reward. I had 20 bucks cash on me so I offered it to him and said I dont have any more cash. He says its not enough (This is all going on in broat daylight at noon DIRECTLY in front of the gas station cashier/convenient store). I open the door to get my cell phone and as soon as I put one foot out the car he grabbed me and threw me out the car and took off. I ran into the store to call the cops and the guy wouldnt let me use the phone so I ended up calling from the shop phone. Cops didnt show up for 45 minutes, nonchalantly took down the info and left. I told them to take prints off the pay phone he was on and gave them the plates to a car which his friends were driving in. I was told "That wont help us". I ended up calling tele-aid and reporting the car stolen. 2 days later a police chase ensued and ended with the guy stuck in 6" of mud in a field (the location of the car was given by tele-aid to local police). There was less than 10 miles put on the car and the front bumper needed to be replaced. Progressive is trying to screw me over by saying that the wheels dont need to be replaced because they can be balanced. Truth is that the wheels are slightly bent and I feel vibration. You can balance a square, doesnt mean ****! The guy at the shop even told me the wheels are slightly bent. Well thats my story. It sucked and I'm still fighting with progressive for my money! On a more positive note: I am now in the 11's
