FS: Eibach swaybars for C230 (W203) - SoCal - $300

Thanks to the generosity of another forum member, I decided to use C32 AMG swaybars on my 2002 C230 Coupe instead of the Eibachs that I had installed. The Eibach swaybars were on my car for 1 week. The bars work very well but are pretty stiff - I was able to spin the inside tire on moderately aggressive cornering.

I bought these from Tire Rack for $350 + shipping for a total of around $375. I'm asking $300 for these bars that have 1 week of use. I would like to sell locally so I don't have to ship them. I'm in Huntington Beach, California.

Bear in mind that you'll need to buy C32 front swaybar mounts for the urethane bushings.

If interested, please PM me or email me at robert_t_king AT hotmail.com (replace AT with @)

Thanks!

Bob

H&R has thicker front (i.e. 26 vs. 24).

Eibach has thicker rear (i.e. 22 vs. 19)

So H&R 26F/19R
Eibach 24F/22R

Yeup, Drex is right.

In addition, i am also surprised that no one has yet bought them. Got Eibach from a member as well and it's worth every penny!

Thanks for the help on the specs for the bars Drex and BigJohnny!

The bars are made for all C-class without 4-matic and the (I believe) 12mm end links. This should work on the C32, C230, C240 and C320 (both coupes and sedans) I think...

For cars other than the C32, you'll need to purchase the C32 brackets for the front urethane bushings. (Theyr'e about $14 each at the MB dealer.) I can give part numbers if needed.

Sorry WaveyKat - I prefer to sell the bars as a set. The Eibach bars come with urethane bushings and the rear mounting brackets can be reused without isssue.

Since the H&R sway bar is a different diameter than the Eibach bars, I would not recommend using the H&R bushing on the thicker Eibach bars since you'll end-up binding the bar and causing more resistance and possibly quirky handling until the bushing or powdercoating on the bar wore itself down...

couple of more questions:

1. does anyone know what the stock diameter bars are for the C32?

2. is the rear bar adjustable like on the H&R setup?

Thanks for the bump and kind words, John!

1FastC32: The stock C32 sway bars are 22mm front, 16 mm rear. The Eibachs are 24mm front, 22mm rear. Here's a link to a thread with the comparisons:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...y+bar+diameter

The front sway bar is adjustable, the rear is not. But, at least on my Coupe, if you set the front to soft, the car will oversteer easily. I set the front bars to firm to help balance the oversteer I was getting and that made the car very neutral.

I'd have to weigh them, but it could be pricey because the box is fairly long. I think to the east coast, it'd be like $40 - 50 for ground service.

Swaybars never go bad! J/K. Well, I've had them for sale for a while, so let me know when you're ready. Heck, they even may be available then!

Will I have any problem using stiff sway bar if I'm going to use airbag suspension?

I don't know if you will or not. What you're doing is inserting an air bag leveller inside the coil, right? So I would imagine not. The only problem with the stiff sway bar is that it more firmly couples the left and right side of your car. So if you've let out more air on the left, then the bar is going to transfer some of the weight to the right side of the car. I hope that makes some sense.
