For Sale 1997 SL500 white/tan
For sale is my 1997 500SL, i have to sell. just recently retired, fixed
income, yada yada yada,, Must Sell..I will consider all offers.. I have owned
the car for 2 yrs, and it has been maintained meticulously, garage kept, and
washed and waxed regularly. The paint and interior reflect that the car has
always been well cared for. Interior last year had professional
detailing/shampoo. Hand waxed every 3 months.
The SL was purchased from a gentleman in northern Louisiana. He was the
Original Owner. The previous owner was well clear of any hurricane activity. It
was his wife's car, and she was always afraid to drive it, so when i got it 2
yrs ago, it's mileage was 20k. It was my only car, so I have put on 25k miles.
Took several trips with it to Wyoming, Vegas, Phoenix, and that added up. It
handles/drives/rides flawlessly. 25-27mpg on road trips. The PO had it
serviced regularly at the Mercedes Dealership in La.
I have added CoCo Mats, Wheels/Tires-Sumotomo 245/40R18 w/10k miles on them. SL factory equipped w/upgraded sound package. Added is a 6-Cd changer
mounted in trunk. Auto-dimming and heated mirrors. Power Seats w/memory.
Factory option of Paint Preservation, Anti-Theft warning system, Dark Brown Soft
top, Cup Holders, Bose Sound.
It really needs nothing, everything works as it should, no noises, groans,
transmissions rough shifts. It is smooth as silk.
45k miles, Pioneer Navigation and Bluetooth Hands Free System and they both
work perfectly, voice prompts will program any Bluetooth Phone, Both are
integrated Sytems, So Incoming Calls/Guidance Prompts will mute the stereo.
Voice Recognition on the GPS. $3400.00 for both of those systems, and have all
those records.
Hardtop is just about perfect as it never is used. Hardtop comes with
Stand/Cover. The front hydraulic actuators for the soft top were replaced last
year, and there is no indication that any of the others are under duress.
Major tuneup last year, and lube/oil service every 3k miles.
Everytime I took the car to Mercedes the crew always remarked on how nice it
was, and that the drivetrain would be good thru 300k. So if the new purchaser
were so inclined, he could have a beautiful, perfectly maintained SL for a
lifetime.
Books/Records. I have a Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) from Mercedes on the
history of it's entire maintenance. Never smoked in/No accidents.
