Not trying to sound like a snob, but I think you have the brands confused. Armani Exchange is an American company that pays the real Giorgio Armani liscense fees to use the name. They do not sell $200 shirts and a $300 jacket is not low end, but its not high end either.
The only "real" Armani is Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni, and Giorgio Armani (Black Label). They get more expensive as you go up. I have an Armani Collezioni sweater and was disappointed to see its made in Hong Kong. But every other high end thing I own, Prada, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Ferragamo shoes etc were all made in Italy or somewhere in Europe.
