FS: AMG Engine cover and Airbox Silver

Hey, I purchased a nice silver AMG engine cover and airbox hoping it would fit directly on my CLK430. Its pretty close, but I don't have time to alter it, so I'm leaving it to you guys. I'm in Augusta, Ga but I'll ship it if buyer pays shipping. It came from a 5.5L (amg 55 model) engine. Intake is round. I only have one tube that runs from the front of the car to the airbox. The other ope shouldn't cost too much to buy. It has some air filters in it. I haven't opened it up, so I don't know if they're factory or not, or how new they are. Looks great, in good shape, few minor scratches. A clip is broken where the lower piece attaches to the airbox/cover, but it still fits fine. The other 3 are fine, so it holds with no problem. PM me or call with offers. You'll like it! Just wish I had more time to fool with it

Oh yeah 200 OBO plus shipping

Also selling a W209 steering wheel: https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...15#post2510215

What needs to be altered for the box to fix on a 430?

I wonder if that would bolt up to the 208 CLK55?

It'd be nice to replace the ugly stock one

I have added a pic of the part that needs to be modified. this part overhangs onto my W208's fan shroud and needs to be modded a little shorter. It would be easy for a fiberglass shop to do it. And it would be the only one out there I think with this cover. Also the tubes that connect to the front of the car would have to be modded what I was going to do was cut off the connection on the W208 and put it on the end of the new one. All in all it was an awesome idea but not enough cash and time so most of my projects have to go.

The Airbox itself (the part with the filters) fits on there perfectly. The issue is with the extension in the front. It overhangs a little on the drivers side and actually hits the top of the fan shroud. I was going to get it modded but I have run into some issues that forced me to sell my Eisenmann race and now my AMG intake. I bought it because NOONE has used this idea before and when I had it on it looked SWEEEEETTTT. The hood will close when its on as it is but I just did not like the complete look unless I had the front cut a little to clear the fan shroud. A fiberglass shop would make it look like it came from the factory. PLUS you get the added benefit of an AMG intake so you get more air and a couple extra horses (this was the most important part!!!)

did your oil filter fit in the right spot with that airbox?

I know the 208 55's oil filter is offset slightly due to what looks like a heat sink / oil cooler type setup attached to it.

Also you mentioned that one of the tabs is broken, is it one of the tabs that holds the top and bottom part together?

Does this use hex screws like the 208 CLK55's airbox to hold the top and bottom part together or does it use metal spring clamps like most other airboxes?

Cheers

Since I have recieved lots of questions about fitting this onto a 430 I will take a pic with it on so you can see the fitment of everything.

Yes, the tab that is broken is the one that hold the top to the bottom but it stays on there securely die to the other tabs. I am sure that an easy fix can be made for this.

No it does not use HEX it just clips on.

Cheers

It will fit your CLK perfectly without any mods cause it is a W209 which is what it came off of. I dont know if you will be able to use your original hoses though...I have a brand new one with the package so if the original doesnt fit then you just have to buy one air hose.
