FS: Whole car ! 1974 W116 450SE in FL $700.00 (lots of pic)
I am selling my 1974 W116 450SE. Reason why I'm selling it is a long story...
I purchased this car from a private seller who never transfered it to her name and now I am stuck with a car that I can not drive on the road.
I have the title from the seller however, it is in original owners name and the purchasers line is already felled out with a sellers name (person I bought the car from). The seller did give me a bill of sale but according to the tax collectors office, she (seller) was not suppose to sell the car to me until she transfered it to her name. The only solution that the tax collector suggested to me was to get in touch with the seller or the original owner to have the title re-issued or get a power of attorney from the seller so that I will be able to transfer it to her name then transfer it to my name (even though, I will be paying title fees and tax twice).
My biggest problem is I can not get in touch with both seller or the original owner. I have called the seller many many times but she seems disappeared on me.
Also I found out that there is a another solution to this. If I go to the court house and pay $256 (court fees) the judge will award the car to me since there is no way to contact the seller.
My situation is I would like to get out out this mess ASAP and not have to deal with this car any longer.
So, I would like to offer this car to W116 lover who could use a great deal and take the whole car as parts. I know this car is better then a average parts car but my loss is your gain.
I think if you are in GA or any other sates that does not require car title for cars that are order then 25 years old, you maybe able to register it and drive on the road. If not, it sure make a great track car too
Overall, this car is in pretty good condition as you see on the photo. A lot of nice parts that you would pay hell of a a lot from parts store. All the mechanical works good and runs strong. Transmission is in good order, A/C is Ice cold. You should be able to make a good profit if you are planing to part it off and sell it bits by peace. Unfortunately, I do not have the storage space to part it off

PS: If you are planing to drive the car on the streets and do not live in any of those states that does not require title (like FL), I will obtain a title by going to the court hose but it will be in your cost which is $256. That way, you will have a clear title to get it registered and so on. Even after obtaining a title, it will be under $1000.00 so I think it's a steal.
