Alright so my check engine light came on, on my 00 S500 took the car to autozone, guy told me my gas cap is f*ing up. I was like ok? checked it seemed fine?

so I figured I would take the car back later to see if he got same code. a couple days later I noticed my gas cap indicator light came on? also needed gas so i stopped to fill er up, checked my gas cap while it was on right and tight, I noticed that there is not one mercedes benz stamp on it and it says made in china ?

Im not a smart man I am guessing this gas cap has something to do with that indicator going off?

my friend says he might have one for a c32, but not sure if it would work? that i can look in his garage for it, if I can find it i can keep it. Anyone know if it would so i can go flip his garage upside down

either way anyone got a spare gas cap for sale, that fits a 2000 S500?

bump? wasnt able to give me a price on cap. but he said he's pretty sure that it is going to be more than $20 lol

 

Don't know what to tell you. I got one a couple of months ago for around $20 @ the stealership.

 

he needed vin number, man that gets on my nerves, I mean I know its to make sure they give you the right part number. i have ordered a good 4 parts from them for my s500, and still the only freakin car they have on profile is our 98 740i from back in the day. I dont really like goin there, their hours dont work out with mine, always arrives on the day right after my day off so I have to wait like a week to go get part, wont have it mailed home. thats why I would rather order things online that way I can have part waiting for me when i get home

what dealership did you order it from? you know if they have an online part order?
