Question Need your HELP for having C32 !!

Mine is 01 C320 w/sport package. The saleman offers me that to trade in mime and have a 48 months lease for new 03 C32 (fully loaded except phone control) with $600/monthly, 15,000 miles/year. Mine c320 is 33,000 mile now and bank finance balance is $15,000 in two years. SO, will you take this deal or i just stay with C320 until paying it off. If yes, anything i shoule be careful on the lease contract since first time to lease a car?

THANKS SOsoSO MUCH !!

No longer car shopping...
Residual?

Check money factors and residuals from that dealer. They are all different and will play money games with $'s you can't see. They will often mis-lead you regarding the numbers as well (say one factor and then add other "charges"). $10K down is HUGE. You DON't have to do that. There are tons of site out there regarding leasing details. Check them out. Think about how much you dirve now. You've got 33K miles on your exsiting car. That's MORE than the 15K/year restriction. All kinds of costly penalties for going over (We have a friend who has a van parked in her garage right now and is using another car because she has already exceeded her miles). I don't lease cars myself becasue of all these issues but I do have other friends who have done it successfully. It's just not easy to get a REAL good deal.

It would be very nice to upgrade to something better...especially if it's an AMG. 10k down w/ $600 monthly was also the number that my dealer gave me on a C32. Don't know if it's a good deal or not, but I endedup getting it anyways and probably will buy it after the lease is up...However, I can tell you that you won't regret it if you do get the car ....'cause C32 is amazing...

lease or purchase

What is the purchase price of the car? If your putting down 10K, I'd rather finance it rather than lease. A rough estimate would be around $200 for every ten thousand financed. Never trust the dealers words. I got my C32 for $54600 and I only put $5000 down and my monthly payments are just a tad over $1000. This is at 4.9% over 5 years. Some of my friends think that paying this much is crazy. True but it goes away everytime I drive my car. If your putting 10000 down, your monthly should just be a little over $800. If you can afford it, just finance it. For a 5 year lease, your residual may still be in the high 20% of the value of the car. I think that leasing is just wasting your money but that's just my opinion. Whatever you do, you'll have fun in the C32. I think you're leading that way anyway. GOOD LUCK!!

Leasing Vs. Purchasing

Hello BOW. There are a lot of things you need to consider when leasing a car. First thing I would recommend is to do a lot of research at www.leaseguide.com. In order to accurately compare if a lease is good or bad, you will need to know the money factor and residual the dealer is using. Here are couple points about leasing.

Pros
1. Your monthly payments can usually afford you a nicer car than purchasing.
2. Usually very little down or drive off.
3. Defer your taxes.

Cons
1. You don't own the car after lease period.
2. Mileage restrictions and penalties.
3. May require GAP insurance.

My wife and I have leased and purchased cars. Depending on your goals, you can decide what works best for you.

That being said, I love the C32 I purchased recently. I think you won't go wrong with the car. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more specific questions. I also have an Excel spreadsheet I use for looking at lease payments if you are interested.

I had the car for almost 4 months now... leased thru Mercedes Credit....no problem w/ them so far and loved the car. This is actually my first time leasing and figure it's better since I switch cars so often, but I think eventually I'll buy it since I like the power and its functionality....I believe buy-off is around 25k after 4 years.

I think your C320 looks great
you should really go with what you feel is right
definitely get a good test drive heck get more than one (hopefully more than one MB dealer in the area there)
either way you go just don't have any regrets
but enjoy the ride
it's one thing to drive and pay for something you don't really like, and another to drive and pay for something that you do love.
regards

However, it is very easy to install them and you may find the good deal on the ebay but make sure they get the orininal model number #488-12-1200 on the spoiler.

Thanks mlee1999, i get your attached !!!

$10,000 down payment for a lease???!!!

As dondi said, with $10,000 down you should finance it, NOT leasing!!! The payment may seem low but at the end of the lease you still end up with nothing unless you are buying it. I am currently leasing my ML320, and it is my first and last lease car. I am a small business owner and I don't see much benefit from leasing. Don't get suckered by the low payment, and $10,000 down payment is not the smart thing to do for leasing. Good luck.

John

Leasing Vs. Purchasing

BOW, I am glad you received my email. I hope that helps. Leasing in itself is not a bad thing, it just depends on your own goals. Buying a new car outright and selling within the first two years could possiblely be one of the worst situations. One, you are taking the brunt of the depreciation and two, you paid the sales tax (California) upfront. You definitely need to review all the numbers and decide what is important to you. Email me if you have questions.
