90 views and no replies...ok, i'll give you some input as i'm currently also looking at a 2001 E55 to buy. so far, the closest i've found to what i want is a 45k mile car that's still under warranty and he lives down nearby. silver/blk two-tone and w/ all the same features. he's asking about $37k and i'm still thinking. i think a dealer would ask about $42k for his car, but they'd make it showroom and also put starmark cert on it.

although it's a nice car, i'm still looking around because i'd like to find one that's 1) has navigation 2) lower miles, and 3) if possible, that also has starmark. my friend went to auction this week and found a 2001 E55 that was similar w/ 22k and i think it went for around $40k...not sure yet. Anyway, just thought i'd share what some of the viewers could be thinking...good luck.

Judging by Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds I am in line. Those 2 sites list dealer retail at 48-49k for this car.

Granted they don't buy the cars.

Mine is the cheapest within 300 miles of Detroit and that includes Chicago.

I'm negotiable for a few thousand. Perhaps on the coasts the resales are worse? Since everyone on the west coast has to have the newest thing...

I'll give it another week or so and see.

As to your '90 reviews and no posts', I don't believe that has any bearing. I look at most posts, even at those selling and I have no intention of buying. I would guess most people do the same.

Thanks for your feedback.

bzliteyear, did you check out the car? Any body works? $37K with ventilated seat is very good deal, except if there have been some body works. My friend bought one w/ 57K miles (no ventilated seat, though) in Bay Area about 1 month ago for $36K.

I found one from a dealer auction (Manheim) in FL w/ ventilated seat and NAVI and 51K miles about a month ago..... it went for $40K.... cheapest 2001 I could find from dealer auctions in entire U.S. about 1 month ago (sorry... keep referring back as I was looking one for my friend then) was around $34K-$35K.... with 70K miles and BELOW average condition.

Not sure if the price has really dropped since a month ago...
