ELW aka MB branded extended warranty
I am new to Mercedes as I have been an Audi / Porsche guy for 25+ years. Loving my CLE53 and looking to keep it for the long term. In the past I had fidelity warranties on my prior vehicles. Never had to access the warranty due to no issues with the vehicle or I ended up trading in the car and just getting a prorated rebate on the warranty.
With that being said I assume the ELW is the way to go vs a third party for Mercedes especially due to the complexity of the AMG variants. Do you agree or is third party just as good? Or is there no need for a warranty beyond the factory 4 years 50k miles standard warranty. I plan on keeping the CLE53 for 5-7 years.
Lastly, why such a high cost for the ELW, is the premium worth it. It’s been 5 years since I priced warranties so this maybe the new norm.
Below are the prices I was quoted for my newly purchased CLE53 ELW.

Why don't you wait until just before the factory warranty expires and/or see how you really like it long term before deciding, unless there's a current mileage component. BTW, I always use the manufacture's EW if available.

Same with Fidelity, send me an email, I can get you your Fidelity numbers, I'm seeing comparable coverage for less than the ELW, but I'd need your VIN to be 100% sure.

It my understanding that the MB ELW is one of the better one's in the business. How does the Fidelity warranty compare? Any reason why not to go the manufacturer directly except for cost when seeking a extended warranty?

Warranty repairs would be handled the same way between both Fidelity and Mercedes-Benz offer coverage.
