Hmmm hopefully that solves it. ECU or TCU? Or both?

I was informed on Friday just The ECU. If in stock is this item typically overnighted to service dept?

All of us with 300 model cars are watching this closely! Good luck! These new-ish M254 engines and systems don't have much press (good or bad) yet, that I can find, re: reliability.

I realize this is a relatively new model (CLE300). However, what I have experienced is completely outrageous and unacceptable.
I have lost faith in the entire MB Brand. Build Quality/Engineering, Tech Support and Customer Service. This is my 6th Mercedes and I have never been more disappointed in a vehicle and the overall experience.

My CLE has been in for service coming on 2 weeks. Service is supposed to replace the ECU this week as 2 previous attempts to rectify the myriad of problems have failed.
I feel as if I’m being held hostage by MB as I have no control over the disposition. I am in limbo. I purchased a 24 CPO vehicle in good faith and have a reasonable expectation that it should be safe and drive able. While a MB CAC Case has been opened I believe this will drag on until the vehicle is fixed (highly doubtful) it’s replaced or bought back.
I no longer have any faith in the vehicle or MB as a brand.

Last Thursday I purchased a 24 CLE CPO from a MB Dealer 4 hours from home.
This Thursday the car went into the shop for serious lurching hesitation bucking acceleration and stalling issues. The car loses power. No dash warning lights are triggered. It’s totally unsafe and not drivable.
Friday morning the car was serviced “ready” for pick up.
Service allegedly did a “Transmission Adaptation”. I drove the vehicle 2 lights from the dealer and broke down. The car is obviously back in service and as of now they have no clue as to what the issue is. I believe it’s major.
Would anyone from experience or legally know if I have any rights or recourse other than the Warranty/CPO? I would like to return the vehicle. I also traded in a vehicle. I reside in Florida. I have contacted the purchasing Mercedes dealership and have been given apologies but that’s all being told it’s warrantied. I have opened a case with Mercedes USA Customer Service.
Thank you in advance.
Update:
My CLE was returned from service today. This whole disaster as per MB was caused by an electrical issue specifically various ground/power connections/lugs had excess paint on them from the factory and started to cause poor electrical connections. This is a new one to me. Hopefully this is actually the cause. Will drive the car extensively this week to make certain the issues are in fact resolved. Thank you for all your kind comments and advice.

Ah painted grounds, of course! There was a different problem before on different mb models again has to do with paint and there was a TSB for it, it affected the 48V mild hybrid system back in 2020, surprised they made the same mistake on the CLE. Glad it is solved now.

Allegedly solved. Anyway to locate that TSB from 2020? MB needs to step up their game on quality assurance. Especially if they are repeating documented mistakes.

It is not the same issue though, the 2020 one has to do with painted ground affecting the 48V mild hybrid system, yours is a different system that is affected either way glad it is solved now so you can finally enjoy an otherwise awesome car. Agreed. Tangentially related. Definitely not the same issue. Thanks again.

So happy they resolved it. I confess I don't even know what a painted ground is...so I'm off to research. Enjoy that beautiful car!

I am certainly happy as well. Not exactly the issue I thought it would be, however it did appear electrical in nature. Thank you for your kind words!!

I just read this thread and while it appears it has a happy ending. If I read it correctly the owner of the thread puchased a CPO car and it broke down 2 blocks after purchase. A CPO car has 7 day return policy. I know to late now but for anyone else this might be a good option.

From the MB CPO coverage or from your dealership. That is a huge difference.

Source?

From a MB website

Vehicle Exchange Privilege

If you are not satisfied with your pre-owned vehicle, you can exchange it at any time within the first seven days or first 500 miles (whichever comes first) for another Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicle of equal or greater value (if the buyer wishes to pay the difference) 2.

So it is more of an exchange policy and not a full fledged return policy. Huge difference.

And I did not know that was a benefit of the CPO program. Kinda cool, if you needed that and it was an option.

Is this dealership specific for MBUSA market CPO specific? never heard of this before. Curiosity killed the cat.

I know it has available for quite some time. Around 2016 I bought a CPO 2014 E550 that turned out to have some issues. The dealership was receptive to letting me exchange it for something else but ultimately they were able to correct the issues on the E550.
