Sales email for CLE 53

Interesting, I just received an email from my local MBZ dealer saying to come in and "experience" the 2026 CLE 53... Are they not selling as good as they want them to or is it just a random thing?

I guess they are selling as any 2 door coupe is. I work at an MB dealer and we sold about 5 last month. Of course the GLE and GLB are bigger sellers.

Not sure. They have 7 in their inventory. 3 coupes and 4 convertibles. Considering they are sitting on 98 GLC 300 it doesn't seem a lot, but I don't know how long they've been sitting on them. Dealerships borrow money to hold cars in inventory and have to pay interest. It's known as floor costs. So at some point it starts eating into the potential profit they can make from the car, especially if they are forced to heavily discount them as well in order to move the inventory.

FWIW, coupes and convertibles are niche products. The market for them isn't that big in the first place. Most people these days buy SUVs and sedans. More the former than the latter.

I switched from Audi RS 5 because I could not get a coupe. 3 months now on my AMG CLE 53 and I am very satisfied with it.

Yeah, pretty much everything quoted here. (I used to work for a MB dealer in a past life). I negotiated an 11 or 12% discount on my CLE 53 about a year and a half ago (essentially calendar year-end, so they were hungry to move units).

I get compliments almost daily on my CLE 53, mostly from people that drive SUVs and sedans. Coupes/convertibles just don't fit as daily drivers for a lot of people.
