Clicking noise while changing from P -> R -> N -> D

Don't know if I'm being paranoid or not. But now when I'm switching from park -> drive, the stick SEEMS to be a little harder to move to the next option, and kind of clicks everytime it switches from P to R to N to D. Not really sure if it was there before.

Car shifts fine. No harsh shifting or sliping that I can tell.

I know this is pretty bad description, but just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems to this that led to much worse.

Car has ~45k miles and is out of warranty. I'm taking her in for her 48k service soon. (Computer says 2k more miles on the lcd)

Not really sure if it's the same problem, but my shift linkage was changed for something similar...don't think it was very expensive

I had my shifter bushings replaced a few months back free of charge as the dealership had just serviced my transmission with a fluid/filter change and not noticed the worn bushings. When you car is in gear, does the shifter seem to have some slack and have a noticeable amount of travel to it? If so, you might want to the bushings replaced the next time you service your transmission. Mine were worn and it caused the car to jump into limp home mode (2nd gear).

bbearden: I'll check on how much slack the shifter is in gear.

Thanks for the replies guys!
