Latest cheap mod

USD 100, some elbow grease, and 30 minutes.
Dunno if you can see a lot of difference in the pics, but I have been thinking of doing it for a very long time.
Was on 9.5x18 et 38 with 12mm spacers, now on 17mm.

The right rear has the 17mm, the left rear 12mm for comparison.

Wheels 8.5x18 front and 9.5x18 rear lorinser RS5.
Really don't know the suspension setting, but lowered with Sachs performance set.
Considered painting the mesh black, but in reality, it doesn't stand out that much as it is dull silver.
Also as the car has black window trim, I don't want the car to look all black with a painted mesh. But it is certainly another cheap mod to consider.

Where can I buy the spacers on internet? Can it create any abnormal usury on mech parts or tires? thanks

Wink Cheap mod?

$400 (based on CEC prices) to move the wheels out another 5mm, gaining a little less than 1/2" total track? That's a cheap mod?

Maybe against foreign currency it's only $20 in Singapore.

I think he paid $100 U.S., and the "free" comment is in ref. to the second set of pics where he "painted" the grill mesh black.

I did only the rear wheels. The Lorinser spacers with 5 longer lugs work out to USD$45 each, so about a hundred bucks for the pair.
I don't like the tucked-in look for the wheels and I think the difference is clear after modding when you see the car in the flesh, so yeah its cheap.

Plus the cost of getting the geometry re-done.

Do spacers cause any HP loss at the wheels? I just got in all my suspension components and the H&R springs came with a pamphlet for H&R spacers. I would be hesitant to do it because it seems equivalent to putting on heavier wheels (adding unsprung weight), am i off track here or do you sacrifice some performance?

good spacers are strong and barely weigh enough to make a difference
