Question Passenger side mirror not "dim" or "blue-ish"

Whats up everyone... I just found out the one flaw in my 2000 CLK 430...i did my first bit of night driving in it tonight and noticed that the rearview mirror has a special bluish or dimming effect to prevent from headlights messing up your vision. The driver side mirror also has this night effect. Unfortunately, the passenger side rearview mirror does not have this effect, resulting in a regular looking mirror. Is this normal for this car? If not, do i just need to replace the mirror, or something electronic that lies behind the mirror? any help would be very much appreciated....

Thanks a million!
