Judder when engaging drive?

Judder when engaging drive?
Our 2000 CLK 320 appears to be developing a fault 
Stationary in neutral, put into drive. Release the brakes and there's a distinct judder for a few seconds.
Fortunately it's under warranty and due a service in a couple of thousand miles, but I'm thinking maybe the auto trans fluid needs replacing? Or maybe something more serious? FWIW it's got 73k miles on the clock.

With those miles, sounds like...
You should consider a tune up. Plugs,wires(if necc), change that damn fuel filter!! (The dealer never ever under warranty does this or suggests this),As far as that tranny, every 30k miles change that fluid!! Another dealer fault! Also, at the price of fuel injectors, do a fuel injector PROFESSIONAL cleaning. I do this to all the trucks in my fleet and its totally worth it as it keeps the injectors spraying at their optimal best. At this time,your tech will also clean your throttle body plate and remove all carbon deposits.To me, just because a car is under extended warranty doesnt mean that preventitive maintenance should not be opted for. good luck! TBH it's more of a tranny thing than a spark/fuelling thing. I don't know how to describe it, but it's not an engine hesitation, more of a judder when taking up drive. If it was a manual I'd think the clutch was glazing up and I'd give ir a couple of 7000rpm standing starts (used to work wonders on my old Subaru Impreza Turbo), but as it's an auto that's not really an option
