3 and 0 stolen..

Last night some idiot stole the 3 and 0 from my CLK 430 rear emblem.

I called the dealer and they said that I had to buy the whole CLK430 badge...and that it would cost $32.00 .

Oh well.

Anyway, atleast the fool that did the deed didn't scratch the vehicle. However, there is some adhesive residue left where the two numbers used to be.

I seem to recall someone had a recommendation for what to use to get this adhesive off of the car without damaging the finish.

Dawn dishwashing liquid maybe?

It will have to be something that can gently dissolve the adhesive.....

that totally sucked ....just to make you feel better...someone from the factory didn't even put the "0" on my car.

anyway...simple green works pretty good. you might want to wax the car again after you use these type of products though

to remove the residue... u need to use either a heat radiator, or a hot air blower.

Thanks guys.

I used a bit of gentle wiping with goo gone.

Grabbed a ruler, measured the distance between the remaining letters, and put it back on.

3m Adhesive remover works great. It also removes tar and bugs and does not hurt the paint. Wipe on, wipe off and use a little wax. (or if you happen to use Griots Garage products the speed shine is awesome)
