Brake questions

Got a brake pad warning yesterday and have a few questions.
1) Can i use porterfield pads on the front and keep OEM's on the back?
2) Is it true that Mercedes changes rotors as well as pads?
3) Can i use slotted rotors on just the front?
4) Anyone know some good slotted rotors that will work with stock calipers? (im not wanting to go for a big brake kit yet)
THanks

1. Use any front/back combination you want
2. Yes it's true, but most of the time unnecessary.
3. Many cars that have slotted/drilled brakes are just in the front, the front does most of the work, so the back doesnt matter unless you want the look.
4. You can get brembo slot/cross drilled in o.e.m. sizes.

I'm using cross drilled Zimmerman rotors on the front with OEm pads and solids rotors on the rear with OEM pads. I will be changing the front pads this weekend for Poterfield pads and changing out the rear rotors for cross drilled Zimmermans too with Porterfield pads. I'm still using stock calipers.
