My air conditioner wont turn off 2000 slk

It finally got hot and I was running the air conditioner. I turned off the car and the thing was still running and guess what ran down my battery. I got a jump and pulled out the fuse #36 and it stopped but if I put it back in the air starts up again......Anyone out there have this before?????
