will 5x114.3 fit Clk?

quick question guys, my old college buddy is selling his wheels off his c230 he says the bolt pattern 5x114.3 do you know if they will fit a clk (5x112). He lives 3 hours away, so i don't want to drive up there for nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, if it fits his C230, it should fit your CLK.

just because you can put the wheel on, doesn't mean its safe to use....

difference between 5x11 vs 5x114.3 isn't much... but, if you happen to drive your car hard, or, in emergency manuevers, I'd rather have a wheel that was meant for my car...

All mb use 5 X 112. The only way he is using those whls on a c230 is either if the bolt holes are 14mm and they allowed to strech it to fit the 112 bolt circle or the holes were extended to accomidate the 112.

Either way, it is not safe like mmgrad said, since our car use 12 mm bolts.

all mb use 112 bolts but you should try those 114 , if you`ll have problems just cut few bolt lines, it`s not a proffesional solution but it works, therefor i wouldn`t be quite relaxed with those mods while i`m on the road.

ya...same here if it's on a c class vehicle they should fit fine but if they are 114.3, i would watch out, to save a couple of hundred bucks is not worth it..what kind of wheels are they?

All MB do NOT use 5x112. That's completely untrue.

Secondly, you forgot about one way he could be using those wheels on the C230. They could be 5x112 and he is just confused about the bolt pattern (that's very common).

What's interesting is there a lot of people that say it's OK to use wheels made for 14mm bolts on cars that use 12mm bolts... but then they get all wussy when it comes to putting a different bolt pattern wheel on (I don't recommend doing either, but I definitely would put 114.3 bolt circle wheels on a car before using 12mm lugs on a wheel with clearance for 14mm).
