Finally my Carlsson RS kit installed!!

Well I just got back from the body shop earlier this morning and was ready to pick up my car. As I was checkin it out one of the workers came out to talk about what plans I had to do to the car and he asked to see the engine..well me I didn't mind so he popped up the hood and as I was still examining my kit and etc..I noticed that the brackets that goes around the headlights were scratched and knicked (about half an inch long on 3 brackets not to big but still bothered me)from the hood touching the brackets. I told the owner and he said he'll fix it since they just pre-fitted the kit and painted the front kit seperately they didn't realize that that would of caused a problem..anyhow I'm still satisfied as how it turned out, well worth the money I spent. My wheels and other mods are waiting in the garage for her to come home. Here are some teaser pics..this is just the beginning so enjoy![]

The kit had problems that the body shop fixed and modified for it to fit correctly but I never posted anything up about me personally having problems with it. This is replica kit not a genuine..I guess they did a pretty good job on my kit?

I'm changing to 19" wheels 8.5 up front and 9.5 in the rear, the 20" I had will look funny with a kit just cause it's a 7.5 in all around, I don't really drive this car as much so I don't care about the "harsh" "uncomfortable" ride I get cause I haven't felt any of that even with my 20" wheels. I'm already thinking of new wheels and I haven't even installed these new wheels I just got, maybe a 10in in the rear..I don't know I'm just saying I'll post pics once I install the wheels then it'll be your decision to whether or not you should change your wheels.

That is a very good fit. They probably charged you alot to make it fit right? It looks really good, cant wait to see the final pics.

Yeah I was surprised how good they did it. When I first got the kit it need a lot of modifications done to it because it wasn't one of the latest kits that they made. I remember "gate1way2" telling me he had it for about a year or 2. That was also one of the reasons why the price went up on labor..We'll just keep the price a secret :p

ok, we can keep the price a secret but can you give us a ballpark number? Like "alot" or "an arm and a leg" or "chump change"?

Well some shops may vary depending on how much modification they need to do to your kit and where you take it to, like I said my kit needed a lot of modifications so it costed me an arm and a leg compared to what others would probably charge but I understood that. If your kit came in and almost bolted on "perfectly" and still needed minor modifications then you shouldn't be more than $1,200 with installation and paint.

ABSOLUTELY NONE of the replica RS kits will go on perfectly. Even authentic Lorinser might need a little modification to fit perfectly.

I, personally, had a horrible, replica RS kit sent to me, and my car was in the shop over 30 days . The shop had to saw the front bumper in half cut away some sections, and fiberglass/resin it back together . The sideskirts were over 1.5" too narrow (up and down...not the length). The rear bumper was NOT a good fit....

there were too many things wrong with the kit for me to list......

but maybe now, the kits have gotten better.

Exactly the same problems my kit had that's why I had to pay more than what I expected. They managed to work with it and it came out good so no complains but just the fact that I wish could of came in a better fitment so I didn't have to cough up more cash then I should of..
