Improve Take-off

I am going to a quarter-mile track in a week or two. My question is what can I do and what should I do to get the best time on the 1/4 mile? Should I hold the brake down and rev the rpm's to about 3,000? Someone also told me if you turn the heat on full blast will help...something about releasing heat from the engine...is there any truth to that?
What is the MB's listed time for the CLK430 in the 1/4 mile?

Turning the heat on in a Benz turns on the compressor, so you don't want to do that. Turn off the air cond./heater completely. Deflate your tires a little, remove your spare tire, only have 1/8 tank of gas. Rev to 2000, release brake while rolling your foot on the accelerator instead of stomping it.

Despite dozens of runs trying everything from shifting it myself to leaving it in "4," my fastest run ever was with ESP on, tranny in Drive, revved to about 1600, and dropped the gas.
