by the way, I don't believe the law states that you MUST place your state issued license plate at the factory designated spot... as long as there is 1 in the rear, and 1 in the front, both clearly visible, then you should be in proper legal parameters... i think... can anyone with more legal experience comment on this?

New to forum
Sorry to post in over the trunk debate, but I just found this forum (have had MBs for 5 years) and wanted to throw up a pic of my bone-stock but still loved baby:

I hope to add some rims soon, and maybe the 430 front spoiler. I want to keep it clean though.
Going to Autohaus in Pompano, the intention was to check up on the wait list for this car in silver with grey interior...and sitting on the floor was this 'pre-owned' 02 CLK320 in one of the most gorgeous colors I had seen on an MB. I'm not sure if all the dealers used the same tactic, but Autohaus had been buying back some CLKs which were purchased by people looking to turn it over for quick profit; it gave them a way to have some cars on the lot to avoid the horrendous wait list. Of course, over-list prices were quite the norm. Giving in to temptation, the CLK came home with me that night!
Glad to know there are some MB forums...I have been participating in the occasional forum chat for VW and Audi, and always wondered if there was such a thing for MBs!!

heeman - I must admit, you have the best looking CLK I've seen so far. What kind or rims are those.
Motorsports99 - Can you post more pics of your car. I'm thinking of getting Brabus IV's as well. Thanks

My family used to only buy cars from autohaus till MB of Ft. Lauderdale had way better prices. I still go to autohaus for service sometimes.

CLK 230 Kompressor
Laiv, thanks for the compliment. Now my head has swelled so big that there is no more headroom left in the car.
Wheels are Lorinser RS 5, F8.5x18, R9.5x18.
Considering thicker spacers all round to push out the wheels.
Tyres Bridgestone SO3, F225-40/18, R255-35/18.
Bodykit is Lorinser DTM edition.
Suspension Sachs performance.
Saving money for Kleeman pulley for supercharger.
On the other hand, I may just leave it as it is now cos it has already sucked up a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$.
Another before shot.

Blue seems like 99 (no blinker mirrors, side markers on the fender, body kit), black is either re-sprayed blak with those mods or just another car.

It is a 98 CLK 230 in original metallic (?transanite) blue.
The blinkers were removed, the resulting holes patched by cutting out a larger section and then welding a piece of metal over it.
The side mirrors were modded by changing to the triangular mountings and the housings with the blinkers. The motors and mirrors were left untouched.
It was then left at the paint shop for 12 days to fit the bodykit and get resprayed to Obsidian Black.
The blue and the black is one and the same car.
I aint got so much money to get 2 CLK's.

Solihin,
go to www.lorinser.com.
They have bodykits for every model, including a "wheel machine" where you can try out various wheels to see how they look on your car.
